Drew: What's up everybody this is Drew, owner Connoisseur Concentrates. I am here today with my Chief Lab Technician; Professor Matsumoto (Hey what's up) and my Media Director; Audrey (Hey), and we are gonna be doing a breakdown today of the New York City Diesel terpene profile. Okay so the original strain of the New York City Diesel is a 60% sativa dominant hybrid crossed between an I believe, let's see, a Mexican strain and an Afghani Landrace and was created by Soma Seeds if I remember correctly. This terpene profile is excellent. It's very different from anything that we've created. It has a lot of different terpenes that I've included in at this time. And I can tell you that if you've tried our Sour Diesel, I wasn't a huge fan of the Sour Diesel, I thought I could have done a better job on that, and I did an excellent job on this. They're way different and I'm gonna be reformulating the Sour Diesel to more accurately match that strain. So one of the first things that you're going to notice about this strain is that the bottle is clear. The bottle is clear because this falls under our organic terpene line which means all the components in it are made from organic terpenes. There's nothing synthetic, nothing artificial in here. One of the first things you're gonna do when you purchase this strain is you're gonna open the bottle and smell it, so I'm gonna walk you through what you're gonna smell. So the first thing I smell is lime, followed by a strong diesely, gassy smell. It's not very complex in nature but those tones are very prevalent. The reason those tones are prevalent is because that is what evaporates out first at the room temperature that we're in. I tell everybody the most important thing that you can do when purchasing terpenes is do not go buy what this bottle smells like. It is a rookie mistake. I know a lot of competitors that are out there and they let you smell it and they vaporize it for you and you can smell the bottle in there, that is not how you buy terpenes because things don't taste like they smell, and I'm gonna let Audrey explain that to you.

Audrey: Right, so what Drew touched base on a little bit; the most important thing to keep in mind when you're purchasing your terpenes is that the pen almost never tastes exactly like what the bottle smells like. You need to know this when you're buying because at the end of the day your client is gonna be tasting the pen, not smelling your bottle. This is why our product is better; it's because we formulate these lines and these terpenes for that end-flavor, not walking up to the counter and smelling the bottle.

Drew: Yeah so you're gonna see other people's bottles that smell better but they're not gonna taste better. Your clients are gonna be tasting your pen, okay? Not smelling the bottle. Cam can you give us a breakdown of what this pen actually tastes like versus what that bottle smells like?

Cameron: Of course, I just made a New York City Diesel pen not so long ago so I'm gonna tell you exactly what it tastes like. Wow, initially I'm getting a gassy note right there akin to most of the diesel strains around-around the neighborhood. Then I'm getting earth tones mixed in there as well, and an aftertaste of a skunky lime flavor. And personally I would categorize this as a strong pungent cannabis flavor, meaning that that cannabis flavor is gonna be at the forefront of your palate.

Drew: So during smoking you're gonna get gassy, you're gonna get diesely, you're gonna get grapefruit, skunky, with some earth into it. It's definitely a pungent, amazing flavor, excellent. So one of the other ways that we designate our terpene profiles is whether they are a blended profile or a separated profile. Blended profiles take all those flavors, combine it into one. Same taste in the beginning through the exhale and inhale. Separated profiles are; I take a puff and the first thing I taste is earth, and then it's followed by skunk and then I only taste the sweet at the very end. That's a separated profile. Can you tell us where the New York City Diesel went?

Cameron: Yeah, I will designate the New York City Diesel as a very well blended profile meaning that you're gonna get that gassiness, that skunky lime, and those earth tones from inhale to exhale. One of the other ways that we classify these strains is whether it's an enhancing agent or a masking agent and Audrey can explain that as well, you can probably guess what it's gonna be and she'll tell you exactly what it is.

Audrey: Right, so every terpene profile varies on how strong the actual flavor is. New York City Diesel is categorized in our medium strength category. We designed this terpene profile to be an enhancing agent rather than a masking agent, meaning that on that exhale that cannabis aroma is really gonna be enhanced with the New York City Diesel, rather than covered like it would be with Bubblegum or Juicy Fruit.

Drew: So the difference between the strength of the profile versus the cannabis strength is this; if you took six drops of this and put it in a gram of distillate, versus six drops of another flavor and put it in a gram of distillate, this flavor is gonna smell really strong compared to this flavor possibly smelling mild. Regardless of what flavor it is, some of them are just stronger than others. So this has a medium flavor profile in a medium to strong cannabis profile. You understand the difference there?
